Hello there,

This was a very interesting project for me, and I got a lot of value out of it. I write a little bit about some of the challenges and reflections I had on the process in my .md files well so this might be slightly redundant, but oh well.

Sizing images is hard. I was able to implement a solution that successfully worked in when I previewed my document in .html, but then failed to resolve properly when I attempted to implement it in RMarkdown. I think this might be because the syntax draws from two different filetypes, and thus resolve differently. Markdown simply saw my apparently .html oriented solution as simply additional text, and rendered it as such. My the second documented approach–using R code in the markdown file–seemed to work, but then it didn't preview the document at all when I rendered it in the preview, or when I pushed it to github. The best solution I found was to use RMarkdown syntax and not resize the photo. I don't think it changed the aesthetics too much, which is why I decided to leave it as is.

I followed the instructions on the cfss website to upload my changes to github, and followed the workflow recommended. I didn't have a major problem with this part of the process. I would say that the most difficult part was understanding the difference between committing changes, and pushing changes. I know understand that one is for simply uploading as an intermediate file save, which can then be turned into a presented, viewable version on git.

Overall, I would say that my experience with this homework has been positive. It has gotten me comfortable with using RMarkdown, and using github more broadly. I can see both of these parts of the programming workflow becoming increasingly important as the course progresses and complexity increases.
