Criteria

• Maintained (has gotten some attention within the last few years, and clearly has people using it)
• Open source project
• Undo/redo
• Is actually a node editor designed for scripting and not a more general flowchart editor

Bonus rejections

• https://github.com/jagenjo/litegraph.js no Typescript, which makes using it much harder. The lead developer sadly hasn't quite made the switch to modern JS yet, which makes using and contributing to the library harder than it should be.
• https://github.com/GraphiteEditor/Graphite its node editor isn't designed to be used by others
• https://github.com/xyflow/xyflow Undo/redo is only in a pro-version example. The library is also one of the more general ones, as such we'd have to customize it a fair bit.
• https://github.com/node-red/node-red is an entire tool and not just a node editor. Not really designed to be embedded into arbitrary other tools.

Regarding code editor and node graph editor: One massive advantage of the node graph editor is the ability to quickly tweak parts of the code, like having a slider for each numerical value. Though this can also be added to text editors, like VSCode having a "color picker popup" when you're programming in CSS.

Meanwhile most node graph editors don't let one quickly switch out the function that one is using. I bet we can do better.
