Gmail notification show all unread messages (not only main as selected)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1.Selected Gmail Extension, 
2. Show unread count for label, Priority Inbox (or only inbox) 
3. Show 1 of 2 accounts

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The expected output, was 0 unread messages.

I see 2359 unread messages.

What version of the product are you using?

Last one, 1.6

Which device and Android version are you experiencing this issue on?

Inew V3, KK 4.4.2

Are you using a custom launcher or ROM? If so, which one? Note that custom
launchers and ROMs are not supported.

Google Now Launcher

It's showing all unread messages, even those that go into the social and 
promotions tab gmail has by default. I solved it by configuring gmail to 
automatically mark anthing that goes into these folders as read.
