This Week's Challenges

My biggest challenge this week was getting a firm grasp of the entire workload for the semester and how to balance my time on certain checklist items effectively. After sitting down with the professor and making a detailed to-do list for the next few weeks, I feel a lot more comfortable with this course and what I need to do to succeed.

This Week's Challenges

Figuring out a realistic timeline for the Consultancy's project. We have a diverse set of to do list items to accomplish before the Client Meeting, all requiring different skills and amounts of time. Although the basics are sorted out and my team is working diligently, the full scope for recreating the data from our approved paper is still unknown at this time. I believe next week we can set-up a "first-draft" of a timeline and start cracking down on some of the checklist items.

  • Downloaded, cleaned, and projected data as Points onto an ArcGIS Pro map (WGS 1984 GCS).
  • Converted points into raster data, then raster data into polygon data using the "Cls" field.
  • Currently attempting to fit data into similar boundaries as Figure in article.

Regarding Special Works 1, I had some challenges determining the best ways to convert the data without losing accuracy or messing it up. After some critical thinking and looking through the Special Works discussion thread, I was able to accurately convert the data into the form (polygon) needed to reproduce the visualization.
