Performance issues with Google Drive add-on on Windows and Xbox #346

Hello,

After fixing the login problems, I'm facing another issue. I'm running Kodi on my Windows PC and Xbox Series X. The Drive add-on works and I can see all my files. Nevertheless, when I try to stream some of the Jellyfin test files (20, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120 Mbits), after a few seconds the video stops. At the beginning I thought the issue was related to the biggest file, but even the 20 Mbit version makes trouble.

When playing from an external HDD, there is no issue.

Is this just some setting, or which limitations does the Drive add-on have?

All my devices are connected via cable and I have a 1 Gbit symmetric fiber connection.

Unfortunately I experience the same thing, also running on Windows, Kodi 21.1, Google Drive addon v1.5.0.

This is when I've exported a Google Drive folder as strm using the add-on, and then try playing one of the exported strm videos through Kodi.

Did you spot any format/bitrate which plays without problem? It would be nice if we could get some feedback from some other users to see if our setup is the issue or there is a general problem.

Do you have advancedsettings.xml file in your Kodi directory? It helps. Here is the pinned topic about this: https://github.com/cguZZman/plugin.googledrive/issues/255

Here is a topic with my post on it: https://github.com/cguZZman/plugin.googledrive/issues/338 You need to follow my instructions on Xbox to do that, on PC you can navigate to Kodi folder just using Windows Explorer.
