Modernist architecture, exemplified by Corbusier (https://www.nationalgeographic.com/magazine/2019/04/what-will-make-cities-livable-as-millions-more-move-to-them/), ruined cities worldwide for much of the 20th century, with Separation of Functions (residential here, commercial there, etc) and spaces designed for cars rather than humans.
Is this idea a new version of that, or actually something new? Is this wasted and unlivable/unusable space, or actually a nice place for humans?
