Brainstorming for v2.0 #12

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
This ticket is for BRAINSTOMRING features for v2.0 of Dice Hero only.
Add comments with very brief features we might want to include in v2.0.

Brainstorming means:
No judgement - just generating ideas
A very short, broad description ("Glowing Button" instead of "button that glows
when hovered over for more than 3 seconds with a blue hue")

Once we have a decently-sized list, we can go through and discuss them in more
detail and decide which ones to add to the v2.0 feature list!

I definitely want to revise the rolling animations. It may be as simple as more
frames (10-12 per second?), but I feel like we haven't quite given that aspect
of the project much justice. It should be mentioned that any of these
enhancements must not degrade performance.

Oh, and as an aside... it would be cool if we can think of a game mode or two
that we would actually want to play ourselves. :) Personally, I've never been a
big fan of mobile gaming, so I'm not the best at that. I have plenty of ideas
for non-dice games... but that's well outside the scope of this project, so
I'll avoid shoehorning ideas that should probably be their own game.

- Adapt a "drinking game" as one of the playable game modes
- Make menus "flickable"
- Pinch gesture changes size of dice
- Ability to choose different backgrounds

Here's a link for a little inspiration:
http://www.machwerx.com/apps/machdice/

I've linked this in the past, but here it is again as it's by far the best
implementation of our type of project that I've seen. Obviously he has a third
dimension going for him, but he also does some interesting things with the UI
that may give us ideas.

I had an idea for a dice drinking game, I can spec it out tomorrow. It's
basically a variation on a game I've played called King's Cup, which uses
cards. The general idea was that each card meant you had to do something
different. So with dice, each roll corresponds to a fun "rule" that will flash
on the screen.

I think we should focus on just one game for right now and the subtle animation
tweaks. I'll spend this weeekend seeing what I can scrap up with brian's specs
and aaron gann's massive beautiful brain. Has Levine set a specific due date ?
