Hello there!
I finally created an account here, bear with me if I might make mistakes in how things are usually handled. I was one of those few people who reported this issue and has been reporting it since at least patch 2.3, when I started a Lokhir campaign and realized to my disappointment that Dark Elves don't have access to colonies in the game right now. Attached you will find - hopefully - screenshots from Warhammer II and III of the Turtle Isles to validate this report. As you should be able to see, Teclis gets an Elven Colony on the Turtle Isles in the second game. However, Rakarth in the third game starting off in the very same settlement does not. I believe that Wood Elves also do not currently get access to said colonies, but I did not verify this. They work just fine for the High Elves.
Don't think this has changed in any way since this was reported? I can take a look later
Is this actually an oversight? or is it a deliberate design change from CA when going from WH2 to WH3?
WH2 left 52 various colonies, WH3 right 10 colonies only high elf:
It might just be intended. But I'm wondering how late in development DE/WE colonies were added or if HE/DE had access to the vortex colonies from the get go.
Unfortunately we don't have any WH2 db history and not much in the patch notes either
The Festag Update has "The following settlement chains now have a Dark Elf slave capacity, allowing slaves to be sent to provinces with these settlements:" so presumably before that. But imo it doesn't matter much what CA did in WH2 if they decided to drop it for other races in WH3.
Might be worth simply dropping a thread on the CA support forums just to see if they say it's as designed or not.
Seems like a good idea, not going to add everything back just to find out it was by design! I'll make a thread later
I remember very early on Delves had colonies, from tomb kings thereabouts, and porting errors start later when they fork wh3 (around dlc11 (vampire coast)) I'm not 100% it's intentional but also look at the flavor text from the screenshot
I'm not a 100% sure if true but seen a few reports.
