This is in no way secure but it's a work around for now...
add "askpass somefile" to the config and store the password in the file. Make
sure to chmod 600 the file so no
one else can read it.
Again, I know this is severely insecure but the GUI currently doesn't look for
hints from the openvpn client that
the cert requires a password.

For me when using a p12 File with the Certificate in it Tunnelblick asks for
the
password.
