How long has JWP's cast integration required the dynamic library of google cast to be manually brought in?

On the page https://docs.jwplayer.com/players/docs/ios-enable-casting-to-chromecast-devices#requirement it is stated that, "The JWP iOS SDK's cast integration requires that you link your app to the dynamic build of the Google Cast SDK. Since Google only distributes its static libraries via CocoaPods, there is no CocoaPods integration option — only the manual download approach described above is possible."

I would like to know when this was first the case. I am trying to automate the building of a a react native project with JW.
