Please have a look at https://galaxyproject.org/ . They have done a great job on availing learning resources to public with power of open source.

Thanks, and yes, it looks like a nice platform for research.

With this project (open uni), the aim is to reach people who just began the journey, and we could, for instance, use the galaxy project to test their findings while they are learning.
