I don't know if this is a known issue. I can not check mail with thunderbird.

It actually proxy only web (http/https).
I don't have time/plan to implement a pop/imap/smtp proxy.
(and especially : my provider doesn't allow those streams ...)

If you need non-web access, try AziLink (http://code.google.com/p/azilink/). 
Like proxoid, it builds upon adb.exe to forward network traffic to the phone, 
but in addition you need to install OpenVPN on your PC.
