I am having some difficulties testing all the packages, since all the paths are hard coded. Perhaps it would be easier to test on your end?
If such a version change is made, we need to notify the users that they need to perform a pacman -Syuu
to "downgrade" the packages.

check the new branch, with those changes done. also built some packages with new versioning scheme. (also unrelated, updated the pkgbuilds from arch kde-unstable!)

btw... is there a concrete rule about being --abbrev=7 ? I used --abbrev=9, can change it if its important.

Use the versioning suggested in the wiki.
E.g., would give version numbers like
5.27.80.r10.g736fe5b
