The AUR git I was maintaining was deleted for some reason but this new one seems up to date. Docklike is probably the best XFCE app-dock, so I highly suggest adding it.

The docklike plugin was deleted/dropped because it is now available at extra/xfce4-docklike-plugin. Some Arch derivatives may have delayed availability.

tio-trom commented 2 months ago

Sorry I am slightly confused. It is available in extra? What extra?

tio-trom commented 2 months ago

Oh thanks. I was unaware of this "extra" https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Official_repositories#extra - so I still don't get it, will it be added to Chaotic AUR or Chaotic AUR does not include packages from the AUR Extra?

Technetium1 commented 2 months ago

The AUR is full of unofficial user-published packages. Extra and others are officially managed by Arch's Package Maintainers (formerly named Trusted Users): https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Package_Maintainers We do not add packages in official Arch repos.

tio-trom commented 2 months ago

Ok gotcha. I was a bit confused now I get it. Thanks!

Arch is adding a lot of AUR packages lately. They'll be dropped from Chaotic AUR when I notice them. pacman should automatically switch over during upgrades.

Also, check that you have notifications enabled for any AUR packages you maintain. Messages are sent prior to deletion to explain the reason.

tio-trom commented 2 months ago

Yes I got the notification but I was not understanding the reason until you guys explained a bit. Now I get how it works. Great that they are adopting more packages.

xiota commented 2 months ago

Wanted to make sure about the notifications because, depending on method of adoption, notifications aren't automatically enabled.

Feel free to comment on related issues if something happens that you'd like explained.
