Font list is not automatically loading fonts in users directory #190

Forward email from my mailbox.

I have installed Character Map UWP on my Windows 10 laptop, however I can only see standard Microsoft fonts under “All Fonts”.

I have found where my purchased fonts are stored (C:\Users\micha\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Fonts), and the “Open Font” folder icon lets me add these fonts individually. But my question is, do I have to do this every time I purchase a new font? Or is there a way to add these automatically please?

I have struggled to find the answer online so I really hope you can help me.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards, Michaela

@JohnnyWestlake look like the app will only look up fonts in C:\Windows\Fonts. Is it possible to add the Users directory?

The app should already support this 🤔 From my testing, fonts purchased from the Microsoft Store work:

and fonts installed to the local user directory also work: image

Do we know where the user is purchasing fonts from? Might be something specific to the provider 🤔

Hello,

Edi logged this query on behalf of myself. I bought some fonts from FontBundles.net and others are free from DaFont.

The fonts are already in C:\Windows\Fonts aswell as under my personal folder. So in C:\Windows\Fonts I have 310 fonts, however on Character Map UWP there are 285 under "All Fonts". I even tried copying again just incase and it said the fonts were already in there.

Thank you for looking into this for me, I appreciate it!
