I was thinking more along the lines of the following:

verbose option is passed into the formatter
if verbose, the formatter prints out each dependency / devDependency
if not verbose, only errors are printed out. This filters out the dependencies / devDependencies that have no errors.
Always also print the message that specifies the number of errors.

What do you think?

@charlierudolph i think verbose don't be in formatter, we can do multiple formatters in future (json, xml and etc)

Thanks for your pull request. I ended up wanting to go with separate formatters so I'm closing this.
