[CW-2853] Feature: Integrate Chatwoot into Mattermost

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. First of all, thanks for an amazing product! It's always great to see new self-hosted projects with a great level of design and development. In this spirit I'd like to suggest Mattermost integration. I'm sure many people such as myself who are using this product are proponents of self-hosting which isn't possible with Slack, so I think it's a good fit for integration.

Describe the solution you'd like Using Mattermost webhooks are almost exactly the same as Slack webhooks so one way communication (Chatwoot -> Mattermost) for notifications of messages should be quite simple.

@iammattmartin / @Rid The current slack integration allows you to reply from Slack, you can create threads and reply from Slack itself. I'm not sure that kind of integration is easy to build. If it is just to post the messages to Mattermost/Rocket.chat, this would be an easy one.

@pranavrajs For me just posting messages to Mattermost would suffice. At the moment I’m using Slack just for notifications on replies and notifications on iOS. However if those were options in the iOS app, I guess that would make the Mattermost integration redundant.

@pranavrajs Same. Being able to get notifications of new conversations, when things are assigned (even being able to set the users slack/mattermost/rocket username so they can be @ replied and also then posts of updated conversations would do just fine.

I started working on a mattermost integration, to be notified about new conversations, but I have noticed two problems:

• I am getting message_created and message_updated events for each message sent from the user
• conversation_started or conversation_status_changed seem not to be soported yet in webhooks.

@danielzzz We don't have a conversation_started event, but we have a conversation_created event. conversation_status_changed is also available. Let me know if you are not receiving any of those.

I was not receiving these, I will confirm.

this was for example in a case when a customer opened some conversation previously, then it was resolved, then they sent in more messages (in this case I believe it should trigger new conversation event, shouldn't it?)

I will have to test yet if it triggers the hook for a totally new customer.

I was testing it through a telegram inbox.

I would suggest if you make it for Mattermost, look also into Zulip, basically they both addapt the Slack model, and with small modifications would be ported into Zulip too. I gave up mattermost for Zulip.

We wish to use Mattermost on dev team but integrating chats and/or boards with the whole team.

+1 also livechat for mattermost are really few, I think chatwoot would take a good place on the market for mattermost as the product is really complete :) if it's a financial issue, is there any way to get in touch to discuss this?

The integration in on our backlog, but it's not a high-priority item at the moment. But if anybody from the community is willing to work on this, will be happy to provide support.
