soundflower not appearing as an audio device #173

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. installing Soundflower
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
expected to see soundflower as an audio device in my audio/midi setup
did not see soundflower as an audio device in my audio/midi setup

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
soundflower 1.6.6b
OSX 10.6.8

Please provide any additional information below.

tried all the suggestions I could find with no luck.  Could it be that it is 
conflicting with other drivers.  Sadly this makes soundflower not usable
