had the same the problem. the sound quality of soundflower is nothing short of
terrible. i had to do a osx system reinstall to get rid of the damn thing

Soundflower has never had a 24-bit option. It has always used the
CoreAudio-native 32-bit floating-point sample format.
There is an uninstall script that will remove Soundflower. A system reinstall
should not be required.

I think the cb user was confused/misguided.
I did notice that some apps have trouble routing (e.g. Skype), and I tend to
hear audio artifacts when soundflower uses a different bit rate than the global
settings. E.g. Soundflower uses 32-bit Integer, but the closest the native
input can do is 32-bit float, which *should* be the same, but I'm wondering if
there are cases where it's not.
