How can we check if external links are still live? #1041

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. We link to a lot of external sites across all our sites. Sometimes these external sites change or are removed. Users then click on our links and find them broken. Is there a way of scraping external links and seeing if they return a 404, or similar error message?

Describe the solution you'd like A script we can use run locally to scrape bloom.chayn.co. We are considering then extending the functionality across all our sites. There might be an external tool that we could use instead of writing a custom script so any suggestions for a different type of solution is welcome. We will at some point seek to automate this functionality and run a scrape every month so we can keep on top of changes.
