How to add exclusion for cheat-engine in Norton 360 for Gamers #2056

When I try to open the Cheat Engine file a dialogue box pops up and yells: THIS APP CAN'T RUN ON YOUR PC. To find a version for your PC, check with software publisher." (FYI I am running Windows 10) I've read several of your responses/watched video to get cheat engine to install (shutting off the windows reputation and making an exception in the browser/settings/downloads etc. Thank you for all the time you've put into these responses! However, I have Norton so those security settings aren't in Windows security. I went to Norton firewall settings and in the tab where you can add exceptions, instead of saying "configure [+}" it says "purge {+}." When I click purge it just asks if I'm sure, I click YES and nothing happens. All of the other settings allow me to configure, I don't understand why I can't edit this one. I've scoured Norton pages and can't figure it out. I could shut off firewall but do I need to leave it off once cheat engine would hopefully install? Was hoping maybe you knew? Really want Cheat Engine for Dead Space 3 ;) Can take screenshots if need be!

I'm not 100% sure but i think that once the install has finished you can reacticate your firewall.

@Angelina1980

Add an exclusion for your downloads folder. C:\Users\USERNAME\Downloads You might also need to add an exclusion for your temp folder. C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp Don't forget to remove exclusions afterward.

Here are a couple of guides…
