alarm ringtone is not playing in settings NOR when alarming

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.goto settings of some alarm(or create new one)
2.go to choose alarm ringtone
3.no one from the list will be playing sound :(

second way to test:
1.setup alarm with default settings (it should play alarm ringtone even if 
phone is in silent mode)
2.wait for it until alarms
3.alarm shows up on screen when ringing, it vibrates, but not playing sound

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Alarm ringtone should be playing when choosing alarm ringtone or when alarm is 
ringing.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
this affected R9 and R9.1 on DHD

Please provide any additional information below.
full wipe was done, few resets to factory settings... but no luck :(

I am testing R8 now, camera works, little bit more news with ALARM sounds - it 
is not working at least from R8 to R9.1 on DHD.

It works, just try to change volume to max in alarm settings. It was not 
working until I set volume to max from default value.

If there is no fix, it could be nice to put this information into ROM 
description, as it is kind of basic feature workaround :) I think this issue 
can be postponed(priority can be low) as workaround is available.

I get the alarm to work by going into System Settings > Sound > Volumes and 
change Alarms, doesn't matter what setting I change it to, and it works from 
then on.

After clean install I need to change the volume (either with the volume keys 
while in the alarm, or by System Settings > Sound > Volumes, and then alarms 
will play.
