blackscreen with backlight on after screen is off #128

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. turn off screen by pressing power button or wait to turn off by itself
2. set alarm or make incoming call (anything that play sound and can be made 
without turning screen on)
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

screen should activate with backlight but only backlight is on, screen remains 
off

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

r10.1, desire hd, full wipe (format all partitions except sd, 4ext recovery)

Please provide any additional information below.

video with this bug just after first boot, only setting i made was changing 
alarm volume becouse it was set to almost maximum and i didnt hear anything 
(another issue after first boot)

you can see how it should behave on first try (guess its something related to 
time after screen is turned off) 2nd try is with bug.

i tested it with incoming call too - same behavior

I've done some more tests today:
After installing Kernel_3.0.43-r8test1 on r11 build i can't replicate this bug. 
I think this kernel was build before paul_nl's commit.
Maybe this commit fixed backlight issue for most of us but broke for my device. 
It fixed vertical rainbow lines. I tested Kernel_3.0.43-r8test3 too, this issue 
is present (back screen, backlight on). Attached logs from r11 with r8test1 
kernel to compare with this above. 
My device has AUO LCD if it helps.
