I tried every workaround I found, but only the following solved it for me.

Thanks @fennectech @mrAsh4r @meusmanrana

Edit: It seems I have to go back to 0.10.2 if I want to restore rootfs or an old icloud backup. popups claim older/newer firmware conflicts. 0.10.2 is fine anyway,

0) If youve jb, restore the rootfs Make sure usbmuxd and friends are installed

1) use checkrain 10.2. Install it via apt. apt install checkra1n=0.10.2 libirecovery3=1.0.0-1 Dont upgrade it yet

2) symlinks ln -s libirecovery-1.0.so.3 libirecovery.so.3 ln -s libirecovery-1.0.so.6 ibirecovery.so.6 ln -s libusbmuxd-2.0.so.6 libusbmuxd.so.6

3) cli preferred , but the timing must be exact For cli : go into DFU and plug it in before running For tui: enable verbose and safe before you start

sudo checkra1n -c -v -s

3a) still not working? Run checkrain normally and when it does dfu mode, unplug before the heap step and close out the terminal, plug it back in, open a new one and run it via cli -c -v -s

4) THE TIMING (my main motivation for this post) the only one post by @meusmanrana i found that worked. After you see "this is the real bug step" come up, START COUNTING to EXACTLY 15. Then unplug it ONLY for 3 seconds and plug it back in.

after it works update the essentials in cydia and then fully upgrade checkra1n, but with libirecovery3-1.0.0-2

I repeat: the timing on this must be exact. Also, I couldnt do it with airplane mode on.

Checkmate. Any bootstrap works.
