Tell us about your setup:

  1. What iDevice are you using? iPad Air 2
  2. On what version of iOS is it? 14.5.1
  3. What version of checkra1n are you using? 0.12.4
  4. What is your host system (OS version? Hackintosh? VM? etc.)? Manjaro (5.14.18 kernel, issues occur on 5.15-rt)
  5. How are you connecting to the device (USB-A? USB-C? Apple/3rd party cable? Through a USB hub?)? USB-A, licensed lightning cable from Ikea, directly into the ThinkPad E14 Gen 2. What are the steps to reproduce the issue?
  6. Do a Jailbreak on 5.15.x
  7. Get the error -31. ...

What do you expect, and what is happening instead? The device to boot in a jailbroken state.

Did you see a popup on the device stating it entered "Safe Mode" due to an error? No.

Does the issue also occur if you tick "Safe Mode" in the checkra1n options? Yes.

Any other info, error logs, screenshots, ...? Can't get a screenshot right now, but I can tomorrow if I need to.

A7 devices are very buggy on Linux and basically, do not work on it.

I had the same error with ipad air wifi on 12.5.5. The trick that worked: Disconnect the cable and reconnect asap during setting up the main bug.. On checkra1n 0.12.4 (options: 1st and 3rd settting on)

@2hug ok thanks, testing that next! Did you run the program on a Linux machine or used the bootable ISO? Tried the iso method but it didn't find the device.

Bootable USB (going into boot selection with pressing F8 while restarting pc)
