Exploit Failed (Error code: -31) #2213

Tell us about your setup:

  1. What iDevice are you using? iphone 5s

  2. On what version of iOS is it? 12.5.5

  3. What version of checkra1n are you using? 0.12.4 beta

  4. What is your host system (OS version? Hackintosh? VM? etc.)?

ISO write to USB

  1. How are you connecting to the device (USB-A? USB-C? Apple/3rd party cable? Through a USB hub?)? USB-A

What are the steps to reproduce the issue? alt-f2, then start , start, enter into dfu mode

What do you expect, and what is happening instead? done jail-breaking expecpted but failed with error -31

Did you see a popup on the device stating it entered "Safe Mode" due to an error? no

Does the issue also occur if you tick "Safe Mode" in the checkra1n options? dont know

Any other info, error logs, screenshots, ...?

Try restarting both the phone and computer. Then when you go into the checkra1n app in options try clicking Allow untested versions and Safe Mode. Then try jailbreaking again.

Same issue. It says that Exploit Failed (Error Code: -31) Info: Task checkrain: 673 blocked for more than 120 seconds. I already ticked safe mode and allow untested versions.

Try to download a old version of checkra1n such as 0.12.1

Having same issue. iPhone 5s latest iOS, using checkra1n via odysseyrain boot disk

Got identical issue with my IPad Air (Wi-Fi). No idea how to go thru this error -31. Tried on Windows / Mint live / Kali / Kali live / distro with only checkra1n on board.

any solution, i have the same problem with iphone 5s, 12.5.5 ios version. i tried on linux, windows. Both

I found a way by using MacOS hardware (linux, windows didn't work) . Just go thru like a charm. It looks like software still needs a Linux updates to work better :) Also on Linux Mint I go thru once by disconnecting cable on the second stage of rooting and holding home button. After 7-10 sec go back and this worked but just once :D .
