Ipad got stuck on recovery mode #2256

Tell us about your setup:

  1. What iDevice are you using? Ipad air A1475
  2. On what version of iOS is it? 12.5.5
  3. What version of checkra1n are you using? 0.12.4 beta
  4. What is your host system (OS version? Hackintosh? VM? etc.)? VM with ubuntu 20.04
  5. How are you connecting to the device (USB-A? USB-C? Apple/3rd party cable? Through a USB hub?)? USB A 3.0

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

  1. with the Ipad on i plug in
  2. click next, the ipad enters on recovery mode
  3. checkrain asks to enter on dfu mode
  4. after the step 3 the ipad shows nothing..
  5. the checkrain dont let me click on any button ...

What do you expect, and what is happening instead? i was expecting to proceed with jailbreak

Did you see a popup on the device stating it entered "Safe Mode" due to an error? no

Does the issue also occur if you tick "Safe Mode" in the checkra1n options? yes 20220219_110947

Any other info, error logs, screenshots, ...?

nvm, i found the problem.. it was the vmware that was not allowed to communicate through the cable

Checkra1n does not work on VM, even with a USB pass-through, make a live USB.
