Iphone 5S error code -31 #2270

Tell us about your setup:

  1. What iDevice are you using? The Iphone 5S
  2. On what version of iOS is it? 12.5.5
  3. What version of checkra1n are you using? 0.12.4
  4. What is your host system (OS version? Hackintosh? VM? etc.)? Mac OS BigSur VM
  5. How are you connecting to the device (USB-A? USB-C? Apple/3rd party cable? Through a USB hub?)? USB C What are the steps to reproduce the issue?
  6. Start the exploit
  7. Get into DFU
  8. Get the error when it starts the jailbreaking

What do you expect, and what is happening instead? It should succesfully install the jailbreak

Did you see a popup on the device stating it entered "Safe Mode" due to an error? no

Does the issue also occur if you tick "Safe Mode" in the checkra1n options? no

Any other info, error logs, screenshots, ...?

Same iphone 5s

I used Checkra1n v0.10.2. Set ALL options in the Checkra1n settings, start the jailbreak process, as soon as you will see "right before trigger", count to 5, then very quickly remove the cable slightly (until -1 error) and plug it back in. "Booting" appears immediately and the process is 100% successful (tested on a many 5S phones with different IOS versions).

You used the connection via USB C, which can also be the cause of the error (how did you put the USB C connector in lightning ???) :-)

might of accidently wrote the wrong cable type
