Downloading Ubuntu, Ra1nUSB or sculpting Hackintosh for jailbreak is a long and tedious task (especially if the hardware is not suitable), so I use Checkn1x v1.0.5 x64 - Checkra1n v0.10.2 as an ISO image. You can download 0.10.2 version directly from Checkra1n's site. Next is a lyrical digression that will save you a lot of time and nerves if you have an iPhone 5S. Set ALL options in the Checkra1n settings, start the jailbreak process, as soon as you will see "right before trigger", count to 5, then very quickly remove the cable slightly (until -1 error) and plug it back in. "Booting" appears immediately and the process is 100% successful (tested on a many 5S phones with different IOS versions).
Then, if you are lucky and you have a phone with just a locked screen (iCloud ON and FindMyIphone doesn't matter), you can restore a fully working phone with a working GSM, 4G network, etc. for free through Sliver 5.
@uzvervolf could you provide the download link for Checkn1x v1.0.5 x64?
I used balenaEtcher to burn a bootable flash drive
Workaround: relaunch checkra1n after every jailbreak attempt.
Tell us about your setup:
What do you expect, and what is happening instead? I expect the phone to boot and successfully jailbreak Did you see a popup on the device stating it entered "Safe Mode" due to an error? No Does the issue also occur if you tick "Safe Mode" in the checkra1n options? Yes Any other info, error logs, screenshots, ...?
