exploit failed, error -31 #2315

Tell us about your setup:

  1. What iDevice are you using? iPhone 5s A1530
  2. On what version of iOS is it? 12.5.6
  3. What version of checkra1n are you using? Beta 0.12.4
  4. What is your host system (OS version? Hackintosh? VM? etc.)? MacOS 12.0.1 (M1 Macbook Pro)
  5. How are you connecting to the device (USB-A? USB-C? Apple/3rd party cable? Through a USB hub?)?
  6. Using USB A via USB C Adaptor, then using pure C to Lightning

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

  1. Using USB A, All when well until the checkra1n started the process, it always ended with error -31 exploit failed.
  2. Type c to lightning, Known Issues.

What do you expect, and what is happening instead? Any info on why using USB A still failed?

Did you see a popup on the device stating it entered "Safe Mode" due to an error? Nope

Does the issue also occur if you tick "Safe Mode" in the checkra1n options? Yes

Any other info, error logs, screenshots, ...? Maybe soon, I will attach it through replies

@mzmznasipadang can you share your solution I've tried many different ways but couldn't bypass the error 31 using USC+ adapter to lightning or USBC to lightning. 🙏

When the device entering DFU mode, unplug the cable and replug it again, see if that helpfull

@mzmznasipadang thanks but it doesn't work neither. My phone reboots when i remove the cable from iphone while in Checkrain app following up the prompt to put it in DFU mode.. Is there a precise moment to do it (first phase 4s or second phase 10s) How long do you need to remove the cable? Also to manage doing it did you use USBc to Lightning or an USBa>c adapter? Also did it worked only in CLI version of checkrain? I tried that too but same results :/
