What iDevice are you using? - iPod Touch 7th gen. It is password locked
On what version of iOS is it? - iOS 14.4.2
What version of checkra1n are you using? - Version 0.12.4
What is your host system (OS version? Hackintosh? VM? etc.)? - macOS Mojave, both on a 2010 Mac Pro and 2012 MacBook Pro
How are you connecting to the device (USB-A? USB-C? Apple/3rd party cable? Through a USB hub?)? - tested with various usb-a cables both official and 3rd party, all plugged directly into their correct ports
I am attempting to checkra1n the device since it is passcode locked and I want to wipe it using checkm8 so I don't have to update to the latest version of iOS 15
What are the steps to reproduce the issue?
Boot into recovery mode
Start checkra1n normally
Before it says "booting", make sure to hold down volume up and volume down to boot into diagnostics mode
Device encounters error upon bootup process "panic: SEPOS patch failed - BPR is set :( ", see image attached.
What do you expect, and what is happening instead?
I expect it to just successfully run like many other iPod touches of mine have (I'm a reseller so I find myself getting many different touch 7gs of various capacities and versions, and I have yet to find another which gives me this issue). Instead of that, it panics during the boot process.
Did you see a popup on the device stating it entered "Safe Mode" due to an error?
No
Does the issue also occur if you tick "Safe Mode" in the checkra1n options?
Yes
