Tell us about your setup:

  1. What iDevice are you using? iPhone 5s Global
  2. On what version of iOS is it? 15.5.5 then 12.5.7
  3. What version of checkra1n are you using? Beta 0.12.4 MacOS GUI version
  4. What is your host system (OS version? Hackintosh? VM? etc.)? Mac OS Sonoma 14.0 on an M1 MacBook Air
  5. How are you connecting to the device (USB-A? USB-C? Apple/3rd party cable? Through a USB hub?)? Random USB-A Lightning cable I found in my drawer and an Adam USB-C to USB-A adapter

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

  1. Plug the idiot in Normal Mode
  2. Do the checkra1n process as normal with any configuration, Safe Mode, Quick Mode, Verbose Boot, Allow Untested whatever.
  3. Impatiently wait for the exploit to be set up and get assaulted by "Exploit Failed Error Code -31". ...

What do you expect, and what is happening instead? I expected the exploit process to be a quick checkmate (get it?). What actually happened is I got assaulted by error -31 Did you see a popup on the device stating it entered "Safe Mode" due to an error? Nope.

Does the issue also occur if you tick "Safe Mode" in the checkra1n options? Yep.

Any other info, error logs, screenshots, ...? nah
