EDIT: tried restoring using iTunes, but the result is the same.

0.9.3.7 and 0.9.4.0 are still giving Error -20 on iPad 6th Gen. Only able to use up to 0.9.2.0

i have a suspicion that this is indeed caused by unclean DFU entry. it would explain a lot of things.

Clean fast DFU technique (Requires irecovery):

  1. Enter recovery mode
  2. In a Terminal window, type irecovery -n, but don't press Enter right away
  3. Press volume down and power on your device
  4. Press enter in Terminal
  5. Two seconds after the screen goes black release power and keep holding volume down
  6. You should be in DFU within 10 seconds.

Please try this.

I have a question, how can I know that I do it right? In step 5, when I release the Power button then the Apple logo appear after that. it's right?

Taptic Engine and volume fixed and Checkra1n is installed to my device. But when I press to install Cydia. it move to Cydia and crash again

Here's a test build that should include the new DFU procedure: https://assets.checkra.in/test/checkra1n%20beta%200.9.4.dmg

Please give this a shot!

My iphone X and ipad pro 10.5 after using this version won't charge using Power Delivery charger.

This version solved the problem of apple id being logged out on my ipad pro

Can you help me out? I can't install irecovery. I installed it from brew, but it says command not found

kpwn commented 4 years ago

https://assets.checkra.in/test/checkra1n%20beta%200.9.4.1.dmg has this procedure implemented.

Still getting -20 on 0.9.4.1 using provided DFU method. Going to try irecovery soon (iPad 6th gen) edit: couldnt get irecovery working with my device

WHTJEON commented 4 years ago

the tweaks are not working...

a7ent commented 4 years ago

@kpwn sorry to bother, but are you guys anywhere near updating for a9x support, not pressuring, just wondering if we could get some news so i can stop refreshing my browsers ever 30 seconds. forever grateful for everything you are all doing.

Edit: I can confirm iPhone 6 on 12.4.3 worked first try with test build 0.9.4.1. iPad 6th gen is still broken, it gives a timeout at booting. while 0.9.2 works first try.

Checkra1n has been broken for me since 0.9.3 and later. On 0.9.2 everything works fine every first try. Not sure what is going on here. Tested on both iPad 6th gen on 13.2.2 and iPhone 6 on 12.4.3.

0.9.5 fixed these issues, with the new DFU sequence.

cat24max commented 4 years ago

Well not really. While 0.9.5 might fix the Face ID issue for some people, it completely broke jailbreaking on the GUI version. If I go to DFU from Normal mode, I can't jailbreak anymore except if I use the CLI. But going into DFU from Recovery is not possible on the iPhone X, even with the new DFU sequence.
