Tell us about your setup:

  1. What iDevice are you using? iPhone 5s
  2. On what version of iOS is it? 12.4.2
  3. What version of checkra1n are you using? GUI or CLI? GUI
  4. What is your host system (OS version? Hackintosh? VM? etc.)? Hackintosh
  5. How are you connecting to the device (USB-A? USB-C? Apple/3rd party cable? Through a USB hub?)? USB-A

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

  1. Unknown
  2. ...

What do you expect, and what is happening instead? To boot normal like the older checkra1n builds but stuck at loader

Does the issue also occur if you enable Safe Mode? No

Any other info, error logs, screenshots, ...?

xrshadowz commented 4 years ago

It is stuck booting but older builds (like 9.5) work better

Siguza commented 4 years ago

So if you enable Safe Mode, the device boots fine? If that is the case, the issue is caused by a tweak, most likely breaking SpringBoard or something else important.

xrshadowz commented 4 years ago

Yes and verbose boot fails too

xrshadowz commented 4 years ago

Safe mode works but verbose and regular boots will not work unless if using old versions

xrshadowz commented 4 years ago

Btw it was not cause by a tweak because even if system is restored it still fails

Siguza commented 4 years ago

What does the host app say? Does it ever upload bootstrap? Can you check if SSH on port 44 works?

xrshadowz commented 4 years ago

Not app but on booting, it is stuck at booting. I am new to this btw

What happened to me was that when I trigger recovery mode from the checkra1n app (running it on MacBook Pro 2017 and 10.15), it gets stuck in recovery mode, and I have only the Verbose Mode checkbox checked, and then I am stuck in recovery bootloop until I continue to restart it several times, and it continues to not be recognized as "In recovery mode" state, so then I switch to an older macOS build on a different Mac (MacBook Pro Mid-2015 and 10.14) which then recognized that I was in recovery mode, then using checkra1n on that allowed me to reboot my iphone out of the recovery bootloop.

xrshadowz commented 4 years ago

it was stuck only on the booting part but never had progressed (no bootstrap) So I wonder when this bug might be fix cuz only option works is safe mode and trying to get to jailbroken mode brings you back to it

xrshadowz commented 4 years ago

thanks at least someone has the same issue.

xrshadowz commented 4 years ago

I guess the error is usually with iPhone 5s. Not sure if other a7 devices are affected. Anyone encounters this problem or has an iPhone 5s, has to move to 0.9.5

xrshadowz commented 4 years ago

For now, if you read this until this bug gets fixed. I will try to find why this is cause. IT IS NOT FROM TWEAKS so you don't have to delete them

xrshadowz commented 4 years ago

Wrong grammar sorry just righting quickly plz correct it

xrshadowz commented 4 years ago

just found out it was a -20 error

xrshadowz commented 4 years ago

It takes 2 or more tries to get it running(this will be improve soon since this device is still expiremental) Also use the gui
