Tell us about your setup:

  1. What iDevice are you using? iPad 6
  2. On what version of iOS is it? 13.3
  3. What version of checkra1n are you using? GUI or CLI? GUI
  4. What is your host system (OS version? Hackintosh? VM? etc.)? Hackintosh High Sierra
  5. How are you connecting to the device (USB-A? USB-C? Apple/3rd party cable? Through a USB hub?)? 3rd party cable/Case front USB 3 port

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

  1. I don't know how to reproduce but it happens 3-4 times every week (seems random). reboots so I have to jb again.
  2. ...

What do you expect, and what is happening instead? N/A

Does the issue also occur if you enable Safe Mode? I have not tried. If I must please tell me how to enter Safe mode.

Any other info, error logs, screenshots, ...? CrashReporter does not show any log. I would appreciate if someone could tell me how to find logs for this problem.

same problem on ipad 6 with checkrain 0.9.7 (also all previous ipad 6 compatible checkrain versions) os: hackintosh catalina, happened on ipados 13.2.2 and also after update 13.3 cable: tried original apple cable and 3rd party, same behavior reproduction: i feel that it happens during app switching, but still feels more random than that apps usually start misbehaving (images / files don't load but some animations still work, gestures such as going home or to task manager still work) then within 15 seconds or if i try to force close the app where the issue began in task manager the device freezes

This happens to me when I'm backgrounding YouTube for a long time and using other apps. Just happened again. I was trying to take a picture from iMessage and it froze after I took the picture.

Safe Mode: check the Safe Mode option on the checkra1n application and then jailbreak

in safemode ipad does not freeze so I'm going to disable safemode and uninstall my tweaks one by one to see which one is crashing the system. Thanks for help everyone

no freezes on safe mode for me either (been on it for 5 days) my tweak list (if it helps):

AppList
AppStore++
AppSync Unified
AutoBrightnessToggle (CCSupport)
AutoLockToggle (CCSupport)
CCSupport
Cercube
Filza
HideLabels13
iCleaner
MTerminal
OpenSSH
PhotoData12
RespringApp
SafeModeApp
tweakCompatible
Twitch++

Crashes definitely began before installation of PhotoData12 and CCSupport tweaks. I'll start with Cercube because of @StateOfInstinct 's note about it happening due to YouTube.

I've went back to normal mode 10 days ago and experienced the first crash right now since my last post.

Cause: Right as I've opened a freshly updated MEGA app the iPad froze, attempted to respring and rebooted. YouTube was running on the background at the time for about 3 hours.

Since my last post I've removed majority of my tweaks and replaced Cercube with YT++. I've also updated my YouTube app.

All of my remaining tweaks: AppStore++ (unlikely, crashes happened before installation), AppSync Unified, OpenSSH, YT ++, tweakCompatible.

After the crash I'm trying out checkra1n 0.9.8 installed through Manjaro Linux.

youtube completely uninstalled after last post and replaced with desktop website in safari 2020-02-16 frozen again, appsync and openssh uninstalled as last possible culprit tweaks half a day later device froze again during heavy safari usage, this time i noticed in the short period before freeze that widgets were just empty frames

in other words problem is within the jailbreak itself most likely memory issues

Same issue on iPad 2018 model. IOS 13.3.1 checkra1n latest update. Causes system crash every two three days. Been like this since checkra1ns first release but seems to be more and more frequent now, restored iPad to fresh install and same issue after jailbreaking. Doesn’t crash when device is not jailbroken.

i haven't gone out of safe mode since (which doesn't crash), however it seems that the device's RAM is still disappearing into the void not sure about normal kernel RAM usage, but I don't think it's supposed to be constantly around 50% htop screen i tried extracting some dump files using sysdiagnose and footprint commands, but right now i don't have time to learn how the entire kernel operates just to get to the bottom of this footprint had some issue with getting kernel memory usage for me sometime through the next week i'm planning on rebooting and thus rejailbreaking just to check whether there is any difference in case anybody plans on getting to this issue i am willing to send them my sysdiagnose dump files

When I tried again today to rejailbreak it was fine for 9 hours then bam crash again and had to rejailbreak yet again. I do hope the devs of checkra1n fix this issue as it’s getting quite annoying now tbh. Unfortunately unc0vers jailbreak doesn’t support 13.3.1 only 13.3 and below. Otherwise I’d try that jailbreak to see if it replicates the same issue again.

Exact same behavior here. iPad Pro 1. Gen. iOS 13.4.1 CR 0.10.1 latest.

Are there any new findings or solution here?
