iphone 5s 12.3 error #919

Tell us about your setup:

  1. What iDevice are you using? iphone 5s
  2. On what version of iOS is it? 12.3
  3. What version of checkra1n are you using? GUI or CLI? 0.9.8 gui
  4. What is your host system (OS version? Hackintosh? VM? etc.)? Mac 10.14.6
  5. How are you connecting to the device (USB-A? USB-C? Apple/3rd party cable? Through a USB hub?)? usb-c to usb-a with satechi convertor What are the steps to reproduce the issue?
  6. Start the tool
  7. Put into DFU mode (works and tries to install
  8. Then get pop up error report and text says exploit failed (error code: -31)
  9. Click yes
  10. Goes into booting
  11. Times out - have to hard restart the device (error message timed out waiting for bootstrap upload) error code -20 ...

What do you expect, and what is happening instead? Should fully boot up/exploit working

Does the issue also occur if you enable Safe Mode? Yes

Any other info, error logs, screenshots, ...?

I got the same error with checkra1n 0.9.8 gui + iPhone5s on 12.4.4 + Mac 10.14.6 Everything was ok with 0.9.7

the same here it says error -20 instead with checkra1n 0.9.8 gui + iPhone 5s 12.4.5 on mac 10.11.6 i guess the update patched the exploit or something

Use 0.9.7 or older

Exactly what Iphone 5s ? Gsm or global?

Why I cant Jailbreak mine. Im using iphone 5s global ios 12.4.4. I tried checkra1n 0.9.7, but failed.

Are you using a real mac hardware ? Checkra1n can be touchy with USB controller or lightning cable.

Im using checra1n on windows by virtuam Machine. Im stuck on -31 error.

Virtual machine USB emulation are not compatible with checkra1n, sorry. You have to use a real mac hardware to get it working. You could also try the new linux version (but it's 0.9.8, so not compatible with iPhone5s) or ra1nusb
