one handy way to check things is to upload a package candidate before doing the final upload.
Yeah, I'm not sure why. I'll look into manual uploading but I think this may be a hackage-wide problem see also: buildable.
Yes, travis builds 7.6.3 fine.

i think my point was more so about building the docs and uploading them :) (and then making sure the links work correctly )
not sure why! 7.6 version built fine in travis right? http://fuuzetsu.co.uk/blog/posts/2014-01-06-Hackage-documentation-v2.html etc might be handy for uploading the docs by hand
