chef push job client for AIX #8

When will push job client for AIX be released?

@anyone - is there any technical reason that is known that push jobs will not work on AIX? Is it because there is no compiled version of 0MQ for AIX? If we can compile that, would you expect push jobs to work? We will probably go ahead and try, but I don't want to waste too much time on it if there is a big known issue that would prevent it from working...

OMG, two years passed. How time flies ... Maybe it's because there is no AIX box donated for dev & test ?

We are actively working on this! Will have some test builds soon. Can you upvote this comment if you would be interested in testing it out. It will only be for AIX 7.1/7.2 though because 6.1 is now end-of-life.

I actually haven't attempted to use push jobs in our env, because AIX is the largest part of our Chef managed fleet. So I'm super glad to hear that it it is in the works. I heard that it was at ChefConf last year, so I've just been patiently waiting :smile_cat:
