fix error 'cannot follow - by name' when the gitlab log path is a symlink

@dbuteau thanks for adding this. Would you mind signing this commit to comply with the Developer Certificate of Origin? You can do a git commit --amend -s and force push the branch.

If you're not available to do that, would you mind if I added it for you?

@dbuteau I think this should have been resolved with #49. Please re-open if this isn't the case 😃
