getStatus takes longer and longer #94

status requests just takes longer and longer if the server is left running
for a while

Is response time increasing with time or with number of requests? Is memory 
usage increasing over time 
when inspecting in "top"?

Memory usage looks ok over time. However CPU usage for the Python-thread 
increases
steadily from about 1-2% to around 50% after a hour of run time.
