Not sure why I can't edit, what else except a 3 should there be?

The compound AMG-706 (Motesanib) is now in the data base as Phase 0 as the system doesn't allow me to save anything else.

Anneli15 commented 8 years ago

Think I know why the system doesn't accept another phase number. It is probably because in Chembl all compounds that are not ph4 and approved are Phase 0. So using Chembl looup says that it has to be "0". I haven't noticed this problem before so something to do with the improved lookup?

Hi Anneli, This is to do with the cross validation of form data to the CHEMBL. The system now checks and validates all the information you have entered in the molecule dictionary and target dictionary form across CHEMBL before saving.

I guessed as much but can it be changed so that it is possible to add another phase than 0?

I am not quite sure I understand, do you want the validation to be removed? Or should I not impose validation on few fields?

Remove validation from the highest phase field if it doesn't allow me to change it from the 0 that is in Chembl to a 1, 2 or 3. If I can change it manually then it is fine. See above example i.e. cross validation is fine when it comes to name, structure relationships but it needs to be possible to change things like highest phase that will obviously be different depending on which phase in development the drug is.

Okie. Is there any other field in molecule dictionary that you might want to forgo validation? like Prodrug, blackbox warning etc?

Maybe not prodrug but blackbox warning yes. Also fields like usan/inn name (or maybe these are different as the compound either has a name in chembl or not and I can add a name anyway)

Now you can change maxphase and blackbox warning even when you do shamble lookup.. I haven’t changed the validation for the rest of the fields. Changed the drug_type to be a dropbox.

Added ’Natural product’ to the list of choices in drug_type. Have increased the text size for target_type from 25 to 50.
