.mpt is a biologic format which is plain text and is much easier to read than .mpr. The problem is, as far as I can figure out, the only way to generate .mpt is by opening the .mpr in eclab and exporting as .mpt. In the process, the user may ask eclab to perform some analysis as well, e.g. calculating the capacity for each cycle and the average voltage, etc. Because the .mpr comes straight off the instrument with no human action.
