Looks weird (at least to me) that the executable has .exe extension, but it works on my macOS

Ah the BSC changes. Yeah it "looks" weird but the extension has no effect on the running.

Thanks for the PR! Keep them coming; I've tried to make this repo as accessible as possible but as someone who works on these things I'm a bit biased already.
