WIP Proposal
We have been thinking of starting a few community projects where developers can pitch in, learn newb techs and related stuff and create software/product with more fun.
The proposal
We as a group will start a project of any sort that relates to software (List mentioned below). Anybody willing to contribute can volunteer themself. There will be a really small online gathering each week to discuss the progress and plans. Any member can step up or step down from the project at any point in time. We know contributing to the community takes a lot of energy and time and we respect everyone's personal choice. The fun is building software needs help from every branch of software development from coding, testing, DevOps, documentation to marketing, content and support and everything in between. So we believe everyone related to the web ecosystem can help and improve the overall experience of the product.
Types of product that can be built
Whats happens once the product is done?
Completing a product is itself a great job. Once we are done with the building process, we try to market as much as possible. The motive of this proposal is not to monetize from any project we undergo but to learn new things while we build a product. However, if the product has potential, then we can move this to the next phase of monetizing it. We saw a lot of simple yet powerful products which make a lot of markets and why don't we try!?
Since we are still on the proposal stage, we haven't put though about the actual monetizing process and we believe we can devise the way on the course of time. We would be glad if any marketing experts here can pitch in on this.
Do we need any funding to start any new project?
The short answer is Big NO. We strongly believe involving funds to any project is the last thing we wanna try. This is because the money often detracts from the actual purpose. A team of enthusiastic developers with few hours per week would be more than enough to drive a project. After all, this is a new experiment we wanna try. Let's do this with what we have now ;)
