Mythtv & CoreAVC cfg question #31

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
Not really a problem, but a cfg question on Mythtv & CoreAVC (patched
Minimyth 0.21 with r60 of coreavc-for-linux)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
How can I be sure that it is using coreAVC? CPU seems the same for a
non-patched build. Trying to play BBC HD.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
r60 on Minimyth 0.21 fixes

Please provide any additional information below.
Do I need to cfg anything in mythtv to actually enable use of CoreAVC
(select specific decoder or should it just work)?

Run 'top' or some other process monitoring tool. You should see dshowserver
consuming a reasonable amount of CPU time.

Coreavc is only used for h.264 (mpeg4) video; mythtv will use your normal
settings
for other videos.

Copying dshowcodec to ~/.mythtv/ enables coreavc.
