Single tap mode unreliable on nexus devices #178

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
On a nexus device running 4.2.2 :
1. Install com.google.android.marvin.talkback-v3.3.0_b1_r86
2. go to settings>a11y>talk back>settings and enable single tap mode
3. attempt to scroll through lists and listen to talk back's hints

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Scrolling through lists is unreliable. Talk back continues to say "double tap"
even though we are in single tap mode. Home/back/recent apps require double tap
still.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.

I'm seeing this issue happen all over my nexus 7. I have the checkbox checked
and still have to double tap every where on my nexus 7. What the previous
lister said needs to get fixed.

We've fixed the hint text for the next beta. We've also removed the option in
versions of jelly bean where the feature isn't supported.

Having to double tap in EditText fields and on the Back/Home/Recents items are
a system-level restriction, which we cannot currently work around.
