our 1st chess tournament series (Dec 23 + 24)

Our first tournament events are 2h long each and will be on:

Here are now things that will help you on lichess:

• familiarize yourself with lichess:

  • play in some games/tournaments beforehand so you get some feel for the UI, handling, ...
  • check your settings: e.g. do you wanna play with or without sound? ...

• follow the other team members from our group: TCCT

  • e.g. you can also PM 'em with questions.

• do you have problems with UI or so?

  • Have you tried yet with another browser?

The rules:

• We play 3:0 games, that means: each player gets 3 minutes and no time increment.
• One tournament is set to 2h.
  • So, since we play 2 tournaments (Dec 23+24) you should reserve about 4-5h for playing, coordination, ...
• The points from both days count: to motivate people joining, the final point table includes the points you made for both tournaments.
• A win gives you 2 points, draw: 1 point.
• There is also "berserk mode", and:
  also when you win consecutive games you get more points (e.g. you have won 2 games which gave you 4 points. When you now win also the 3rd game you get 4 points, so in total: 8 points)
• when a game starts, you have to move in the next 20 seconds. If you don't, you have lost the game.
• The top3 winners overall - from both days - get a prize
  • how much?
  • only top3?
• payment of the prizes is:
  • after 7 days
  • why? because lichess' internal cheat algorithm analyzes the games for cheaters :-)
• users who have won, will get a PM at lichess, and are asked to give on bitcointalk a ChessCoin address where the prize can be sent to.
  • reason: so everyone can see the process + also brings activity on bitcointalk
  • when I send the prize, I'll post on bitcointalk also the txid
• The prizes won't be given out, when we don't reach X players in the tournament.
  • The prizes will then be added to the pot of the next tournament to come (in 2 weeks?)
  • each of the X players must have at least 1 (or 2, or more?) games won.
• the tournament will be created 1h before the start date of the tournament
• arbiter, see here
• to get a prize, you must be member of the TCCT team
  • why? so we become a bigger team over time, and get attention from other teams

that doesn't make 100%, so the 3rd one also gets 1/4 ?

summary of our 1st event:

1. 35 players played in our 1st tournament
2. the top3 winners had at least a rating of 1882:
   • the top6 players had an avg of: 1854, the average rating of all 35 players was: 1682

3. We played in total over these 2h:
   • 99 blitz games
   • made 7411 moves
   • users who played with black won in avg. 51% (white wins: 45%; 4% of the games ended with a draw)

Let's look at the top3 players:

• 1 OnEBiGHoLE (member since 11 days): 88 tournament points

• 2 ivan376 (member since 12 days): 35 tp

• 3 MSaid (member since Jun 29, 2017): 5548 tp

Also:

• Our TCCT group has now 7 members and 2543 tournament points
• in the 2 warm-up tournaments before we had 17 players
