What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.
Need an authorization framework built-in to the web server. Here is what would 
be ideal:

1) Ability to define roles
2) Ability to define tasks that are assigned to roles
3) Ability to assign users or groups to roles

How do you see it implemented, and configured?
There are so many possibilities so that I am afraid this task is too out of 
scope of this project.
