Hi there,
Thank you for your inquiry regarding the ESP Server feature.
The port 50051 you mentioned is used for the ESP service to listen for data requests from independent ESP display programs. It cannot be accessed via a web browser.
To use ESP, you should run apexsky_overlay as a regular user. Once the overlay is displayed, switch to the overlay window to make it the active window, then hold the Insert key to interact. Click the overlay's connect button to connect to the data interface mentioned.
There is also a web version of the apexsky_overlay program, which you can access at https://chettoy.github.io/apexsky/.
The reason for defaulting to an IPv6 localhost port is to reduce the likelihood of the port being already in use by other programs under the default configuration.
Thank you!
Hello Chettoy,
First of all, i would like to express my admiration regarding your work. i love to have web version of map (RADAR) like when we hold F8 but in web to be able to share this information with teammates trough web + port forward. maybe this feature already exist and i don't know how to use it.
Best regards!
