The issue is not in scope since the index is so large that it's unreasonable to happen in real life. The error message clearly distinguishes between format and input value error when user inputs a reasonable value, an integer say 100000.

Also, our app fulfills the requirement:

The user cannot attempt to use the missing feature or when the user does so, the software fails gracefully, possibly with a suitable error message i.e., the software should not crash.

Thus the issue can and should be categorized as not in scope.
